For those that are not aware there is a popular video game called "Call of Duty" and the latest version is called "Black Ops." This year Jeep came out with a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited "Call of Duty Black Ops Edition" and it is a very cool machine.

This spring one of my riding buddies purchased one of these Jeeps and I suggested to him that we should make his XTX into a Black Ops version.

So we are starting with a 2009 XTX with about 1500 miles on it. He purchased it new in the spring of 2009 so it really only has 2 seasons on it.

Here is what is already done to the sled:

Slydog Powder Hounds - Urban Camo
Rox 3.5" track
Jacobson ROV
Boss Performance clutching (old DNF kit)
Backcountry 1.75" track
20/39 gearing (He can't recall for sure if that is what it is)

The Plan: Paint it black! Lots of black paint, black powder coating and the Jeep COD decals. In addition we are going to add the matching urban camo slydog wheels and a Roest skid plate. ...and who knows what else!

So here are some pics of what the Jeep looks like that we are basing the project one and a before pic of the XTX.

Black is always cool!

Black bumpers, windshield, running boards, tunnel.. Black seat wrap.
Just some of the things i came to think of..

Be sure to post up pics once you get started.

Wasn't a huge fan of black ops, but being someone who has probably played COD for about 50 hours of his life I can definitely get behind this project. Lots of pics.

^ only fifty hours! lol, great project cant wait to see the finished results. are you going with a new seat cover or are you going to paint the seat cover with some vinyl paint?

I mentioned a few options to him. I am not sure what he wants to do with that at this point.

Well no, it's going to have the jeep graphics, black powder coated parts and the urban camo parts. It's not just going to be a black sled.

I wasnt shooting for the black ops theme but i think it qualifys !
Its got a black windy , gloss black side cover graphics , painted black exhaust covers and dyed seat stripe. .

need sled start remote start to find it..... :bling

Yes boys we are aware the blacked out sled has been done many times before. In fact the owner of this XTX had a blacked out Rev previous to this one. But again we are not blacking out this sled. It will involve black paint and black powder coating for sure but the sled will end up black and grey with white graphics.
