I know we have beat this blow off thing to death but please humor me.
My vortech valve just arrived with no instructions.
I read Hammers post and looked at the pics.
What is the vacuum behind the throttle plates when the plates close.?
(MPI 6psi apex)
what vacuum level should the valve be set to open?
Does ic pressure ever actually blow the valve open or is it pulled open by vacumm?
Thanks for the help

When you're on boost and let off throttle the butterflies that are directly attached to your throttle lever is shut close, then two things happens. First on the intake (compressor, turbo/SC) side of the throttle butterflies pressure will start to rise cause with the butterflies beeing shut close air has nowhere to go. Second on the engine side of the butterflies vacuum is created cause engine is sucking air and little air is at avail with the butterflies shut.
The BOV is using this vacuum as a signal as when to open the valve that lets off the rising pressure on the intake side of the butterflies.
Install the BOV without doing any adjustments on the vacuum settings. If I remember it correctly the instructions I got said not to adjust unless absolutely necessary. I left mine as it was and are very happy with it.
Anyone that have adjusted it please chime in with details.
No, the pressure on the IC/compressor side of the throttleplate cannot blow the valve open, it is pulled open by the vacuum signal from the engine side of the throttle bodies. The way the Vortech operates it doesn't leak boost and have quick response whenever you let off throttle.

Do you guys recirculate the air back to the intake or just vent to the atmoshpere?
