like others have said, gearing down in the mountains helps reduce heat and improve belt life dramatically.
snowy1 said:no I haven,t been able to check track speed, we don,t have much snow, and the only place there is enough to hold it open is hard and a short run and not real smooth. its all I can do to hold on and keep the sled under control. no time to look at speed. I plan on riding with Paul on saturday in utah, maybe I can check it then.
Cool. Ill probably be with him. Hopefully you can get a few rides in before you sell your sled.

TT and snowy1 have actual knowledge on what works with the Shockwave, go with what they say for the best results that will work in your riding conditions.
Thought I would do a update. Ended up changing springs, spring twist, helix deg, secondary clutches, buttons, rollers and could not figure out what was going on. Earlier in the year I had the supertips weighed heavy at the tip. Well I have the new agressive supertips and they wouldn't let me shift out from a idle. Literally it wouldn't let my primary clutch engage. So I moved all the weight to the heel and it fixed that problem. The problem was taking all the weight off the tip didn't give the primary enough squeeze on the top end and the belt was slipping like a mo fo. So I added some weight to the tip, got the squeeze I needed for top end and haven't blew a belt! Thanks for everyones help.

glad to hear you got it figured out, that thing must really haul a$$ now with it shifting out properly, it hauled a$$ befor. I like most of the wieght in the heel but I always spread alittle out across the whole wieght for that same reason, do you still have the higher gearing in, if so that may have made it more of a problem trying to shift out. but if you can make it work with the higher gears should get more track speed. how the snow over there now.
In trying to figure all this all out I did gear down to stock 20/40 and was still blowing them until I got more weight in the tip. It is pulling hard! Seeing 92 mph track speed at 10K ft 19 psi on the same hill we were racing on when you were here. Wonder what it would be with a 162" track insted of my 174". Snow is great after this week. We got 2 ft already this week with another ft or more on the way. You need to come back down soon.

thats good track speed with a 174, I think you will be faster wiith the 174 due to traction as long as you have the hp to pull it which you do, we are getting alittle snow but its still not very good, i would like to get back over there, doesn,t look like the sled is going to sell bad market right now.
I can't believe it hasn't sold. The market must be really bad, because I thought it would sell like a hotcake.
What track speeds did you see with your rx-1?

I was seeing 95 mph track speed with my rx1, at 18 lbs, I think the 4 cylinders make more power than the 3.s if everything is put together right. but I haven,t really got a change to see what this will do yet. that was with bigger drivers on the rx1 so it could have been reading alittle low.
