Have an 03 rx1 and i am blowing the fuse that runs the speedo/taillight. I replaced the headlights at the start of the season with Xeon 100/80 bulbs from royal distributing and then the issue started. I then bought the LED taillight replacement bulbs since they draw much less than the regular bulbs but just the other day i blew the fuse again. I assume it is the headlights that is doing it but i really don't wanna give up the brightness that the new headlights give.. Any suggestions?
Thx

On the 2003's I was told by a reputable source at Yamaha Canada that there was only 30 Watts extra in the system to play with. Add a heated shield to that equation and your already over with those bulbs.
Stick with the stock wattage and you will be fine.

Take the power from the high beam switch (blue wire with white tracer) instead of the heated grips. Your not rerally supposed to tap into the heated grips (brown wire?). Causes problems with the CDI.
Ebay or wallmart has them if there is one in Canada.

I would say the silverstars are 2-3 times brighter than stock. Nice white light. even at idle. superior over stock. As much money as we pay for these sleds they should come from the factory, you can't put a price on satety!
