Staying at the Boarders (Wetmore) and riding to Grand Marias. About how many miles taking shortest route? Do you need to top off with gas in Shingleton to make the trip? Riding Winders. Thanks!

You will make it on 1 tank of gas easy.

Waiting in line for it is another thing.

That line is not too bad!
We have been in that line and went across the street to have dinner and wait for fuel tanker to show up. They were out of gas.
All part of the experience!

part of why i like to ride there on thursday instead of weekend as way less crowded.

seen it that bad on a friday a few times and told that was minor.

Thanks for the advice! Left Boarders at 7:30 AM Friday to beat all the traffic to Grand Marias. Glad we we did. No wait for gas and trails were great. By early afternoon the trails were beat up and hundred of sleds everywhere.

Maim, Thursday was just like any Saturday this year. Just got back from spending the week, 6 days Sunday thru Friday riding and every day had a high volume of traffic.

We hit the trails at 7:05 am Friday, it was after 8:30 before we saw the first sled. Rode fresh groomed trails until about 10 am when traffic started to pick up. We were back at our cabin by 12:40 with 150 miles and called it a day.

A shi t show like no other I’m sure. Free weekend and no residents day as well as no snow down state. Probably worst riding ever.

You are so right, we kept saying it all day Friday. Gotta say for the high volume of traffic we experienced all week we did not have one encounter of a close call. Everyone was staying right, it was good to see.

They are riding down state, every trail crossing we saw from 75 today had been groomed and every hotel was packed with trucks and trailers.
