Boondocker's RX-1 side mount turbo with pics

Air filter should be no problem. Looks like theres room for a short offset K&N just like the MC rear mount uses. These new pics answer alot of questions. I'm just not a fan of putting this weight up front.

This kit is built by " MT riders ," one of who builds titanium frames so weight is a major issue for them . They evidentially were not happy with the existing kits that were available to them, because of all the past issues ; OverallWeight, Header cracking, Turbo support, fuel capacity, Throttle response, Heavy intercooler, there using a lightweight australian intercooler core. The oil tank weight was moved under the intercooler where the SC is located , that would off set the right ski from getting heavy. This kit is tripping my trigger. BUT??????

But...No track record, the uncertainty of these issues 1. I'm still concerned about header heat cycling,Ya know Hot to cold to hot....which I assume will eventually cause cracking , if the material used will stand the test of time and 2. Under hood heat is kept under control, no melting, There may be the need for more venting, and if it can be done tastefully without butchering the shi$ out of my new apex . 3. I'm also considering mc-xpress.

The air intake will alway be sucking warm to hot air that close to the heat source (turbo)which will have higher intake temp.

The rear mount MCEXPRESS is always sucking cooler outside temp air and then ran through two intercooler for a over all cooler intake temp which is better for the engine to produce more consistance and reliable horsepower.

The bd kit looks nice and time will tell.

Boost It, Thanks for clarifying, I share your concerns. Like I said before, only time will tell. The MC kit should be a quality kit, if it is anything like the RX1 rear mount. Freak, like Snowy1 said, under the intercooler.

How you gonna check the oil? Pull the intercooler ?
Gonna be good for all of us with all these new kits poppin' up. Pretty sure I made a good choice though. Pump gas with 260hp sound good to me.

It appears to me that there will be a heat issue with the brake :ORC

All you guys worried about heat, would it make sense to wrap the header and turbo (exhaust side) with exhaust header wrap?? That stuff is supposed to cut under hood heat by 70%. That's my plan anyway.

I know a guy that has one ordered with the ti chassis so I will get to see how it works first hand. I,ll let you know.
