I just brought home a rear exchanger kit!!
Even today on the lake with about an inch of snow, my temp light ended up coming on!!
So I haven't looked under the sled to see what is involved in this task..the instructions are for a Vector only. The Vector sleds require some cutting to install this kit.
Yamaha Canada told me to put this kit on.
...and I blew another idler wheel today...

I paid $108 for the cooler and installation on my GT thru my dealer. It fits the short track vectors,rx1's and apexes. It is easy to install but I think you have to enlarge the holes where the tubes go thru the tunnel a little bit.

It's going on my Apex ofcourse...and I think the 'enlarging the holes' is only on Vectors..not the Apex.
I am putting mine on tomorrow night I hope!
You only have to enlarge the hole on one side, push the crossover tube thru the enlarged hole until it drops out of the other side. And I do believe the tunnels on the vector and apex are the same.

Still gotta do it on the Apex. You can't get the stock crossover tube out without opening up one side. It's very minor and can be done with a hacksaw blade.

Just a little note about the overheating problem...I was told this past weekend that you need to check your antifreeze ratio. It should be 60/40, and sometimes it comes from the factory almost pure antifreeze, causeing it to cool less effectively. It was very warm this past weekend with little snow and I never had a problem, my light never came on.

Yes, I fixed my AF ratio within the first 40 miles I had it, 2 weeks ago!

Was $108 with installation or just for the cooler?? Do you happen to have a part #. I'll install it myself. I've never overheated but it's cheap insurance. Hey snowbelt where are you in cicero and where do you ride??

$108 was with the labor for 1 hr. I think the rear cooler was about $50.I lost the bill so I don't remember the exact price. The part # is 8ET-RHECR-KT.
