Just received a recall notice for inspection of the brake line position. Notice indicates affected sleds are 2015 SR10LSFO (LTX-LE with 1.25" Ripsaw II track) and SR10m62LFO (MTX 162 LE).

Apparently there have been problems with the secondary touching the brake line on full shift causing damage and possible brake failure. Fix is replacement of brake line if damaged or repositioning of the banjo bolt (which moves the hose) if not damaged. Dealer inspection is a 15 minute thing or 30 minutes if the brake line needs replacing.

Just an FYI for those that have either of those models and have not gotten a recall notice.

For others, might no hurt to give it a looksee and make sure that there isn't any potential contact there.

I found that last year and moved it when I added the riser it was just showing a slight mark. the angle was bad anyhow it reduced the length you had to play with.

Good question, looks like just the spring release sleds. SR10LSFO (LTX-LE with the 1.25" ripsaw), and SR10M62LFO (MTX 162 LE). I'll edit my post above.

Even my 15 XTX was making contact my 14 was not. the 15 was turned out a lot further at the banjo.

My 2014 LTX SE wore through the line and I had total loss of brakes and fluid at the end of last year. The line was pulled away from the tunnel slightly and combine that with Ulmers secondary machining for increased shift and it rubbed on the line and wore through. I was coming down a big hill to a road crossing at with traffic coming when it decided to finally rupture. Luckily I got it stopped just as the skis crested the snow bank and made contact with the shoulder. Phewwww lol

I saw this out there as well and was waiting to see from Yamaha about the recall and what models where affected but for the time being I would check your sled if you have a Viper.

Recall is out there, but only currently lists 2015 SR10LSFO (L-TX LE 1.25") and SR10M162LFO (M-TX 162 LE).

Based on what others with different Vipers are saying, Yamaha may need to consider expanding the recall. In the meanwhile, X2 on Mr. Sleds suggestion to check your Viper for this regardless of the model.
