Curious how many have swapped out a bulkhead on their Yamaha 4-stroke sled? For those of you who haven't, it's REAL FUN :drink:

I havent had to replace mine yet buts its all bent up underneath where the side panels mount and where the oil pan plate is from hitting something.Dealer was amazed that my heat exchanger wasnt leeking ,when I took it in for warranty work on the rails and bushings.

I just got a yellow skid plate off of ebay, for 25.00 shipped, so hopfully that saves it from any more damage.

The bulkheads I'm referring to are cast Alum. and will bust before they bend. The skid plate will do nothing for you if you hit an object with the ski. That's what I did, and the impact broke the mounting boss for the lower A-arm.

getting ready to change it out as soon as the ins. co sends the check!!! is it a lot of work??? dont really look like it but only you would know!!! how much for the parts???

I caught the top of a stump and bent mine on alittle between where the A-arm connects near the frame and the sway bar...its bent in and there is a crack...I'm wonding if it can be knocked back out some and welded since there seems to be no structual or performance problem?

$279 from Ronnies, if I remember correctly. I had mine replaced under extended warranty last year. Be sure to check into it if you have it.

Changed mine about 4 months ago. It's not bad at all! Way easier than I thought it would be. About 6 hours start to finish by myself. Good learning experience!

Did mine 2 years ago. Hit a rock covered by snow.... Also ripped up a hole under the engine  so that the oil was lost. Had to replace the crankshaft and 3 rods. Now I have my 2nd RX and a skidplate!
