Evening everyone,

Was going over everything before my big trip next week and noticed a crack in on of the welds in my procross bumper. Should I be concerned? Will it be OK to use on my trip or should I pull it off and put the stock one back one?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Looks like its already off.. Guessing the weight of the bumper with the vibes of riding caused the weld to crack. Have you hit anything with it out of the norm?

Nothing that I can recall, weak weld from the factory maybe? Are these bumpers steel or aluminum?

Wonder if I should try and find someone to weld it back up

Take it back and TELL THEM TO REPLACE IT, don't ask, we pay way too much for this s--t to put up with the poor quality (material, welds and products) in our after market stuff.
You bought Cat I bought Yamaha because WE expect quality from our sleds, we deserve it from the accessories we buy.
If we wanted crap we'ed be driving one of the other two.

Crap! just looked and same thing starting on mine further forward. Honestly you are going to need to weld it anyway. Needs alot of weld there and factory doesnt do that. China you know.

Are these the sport bumpers? That sucks, I was planning on getting one. Guess I'll have to take a better look at aftermarket options

Mine is the Cat Bumper but they all have the same stingy welds filling big gaps and are all aluminum. Still way better than stock. Just count on rewelding down the line.

Wonder if I should just go out and buy the Skinz procross bumper. Seems like this is an issue across all the bumpers from Cat

Not sure about your area but we have lots of great welders here. Simple fix and will be MUCH better than new. Up to you though anything is better than the little loop stock bumper.

Yeah if I already had the bumper I'd just get it welded. Since I'm looking to buy a bumper I'm going to have to do some research before I decide. I really like the looks of the OEMs though.
