I've tried to reply as well and couldn't for same reason.
This is one of the reasons I love Sundays project farm videos on YouTube.I have a hard time taking 540 rat seriously. It is very hard to accept his opaque methodology, convoluted explanations, and sometimes gravity defying statements. His blog is labeled 'tech facts, not myths' but facts are verifiable by third parties because they are.. 'facts'.
He outright refuses to talk in any detail about any of his methods other than vague references because he just wants to talk about how right he is and how wrong the entire world is. It always comes down to 'He is right, the rest of the world is wrong, and he can prove it'... only he never does quite do that. A real engineer will not only talk about how they approached a problem... they will talk about it endlessly. Don't bother trying to ask him about anything that seems even mildly controversial in what he says, hundreds of people have tried, he is hardwired to 'defensive'.
Mike, the only problem we have seen at the dealership regarding switching oil viscosities is some times it messes with some of the VVT parameters. In some rare cases it has tripped a code regarding VVT application/ timing.I've been using it everything that needs a 30 weight oil including the 998's. Even switch some our vehicles to it that call for 0-20 and 5-20. Thought I'd see a full mileage decrease in them but we haven't.
replyin to my own comment here ... in hopes it might help sumone new to tuning a sw... as i was green in this department! the above setup that was recommended to me by td and also the fella who flashed it imo worked excellent, was worried about clucth weight , rpms , belts snappin , crap fuel settin det light etc.. i ran it like this for just shy 500 hard miles, zero problems, rpms settle at 88-8900, may spike above that but dont touch limiter, had 94 , 93 octane for most of it but got stuck gettin a tank of 91 from a older shabby lookin station i thoght might give me troubles ... nope, imo sleds wicked!really growin a love for this machine! one thing i noticed is my boost on dash would read mid 17 or tad higher for a sec thdn get back to 16.9,i just have the stock map sensor and thoght it wouldn't read past 17? idkso i ended up going with tdmax pump 17,3 in intimidator muffler, ts bov and have a question regarding clutching, the dalton weights i put in with the largest slug is 79 grams, tge stock weight was 70 grams, does this sound correct for sumone whos mabe allready bin down this road?i also put a dalton 35 helix bk/gn dalton primary sping and a ybo secondary spring wraped 6-2 any thoughts on this set up? weight a little heavy?
