Do cold air intakes really make any difference ? I'm not a lake racer but just wondering if a CAI is worth it? Currently running a hurricane 240 flash and hurricane trail muffler. I'm assuming that the CAI would makes things a little leaner in the A/F department and give better throttle response? Thanks for the input guys.

I have one. Not putting it on.
Mike Knapp took his CAI off. He said it added little HP and kept some cool air away from the clutches.
I think you would need a CAI tune if you put one on.

Hurricane tunes work with or without CAI. I believe the throttle response is increased with a CAI, even if it is warmer air in the end. Mike did good testing on this, and he went back to stock I believe.
Lots of theories here and no right or wrong.

Anyone ever notice the stock intake only sucks air from one side of the dash, My 1100 cat was the same and with a wholesaw I opened up the other one I think this could be done to the sidewinder also give the stock intake more air

when I removed the plumbing there were two snorkel tubes coming down from the screen vents. Thought those were both for the air box maybe I am wrongAnyone ever notice the stock intake only sucks air from one side of the dash, My 1100 cat was the same and with a wholesaw I opened up the other one I think this could be done to the sidewinder also give the stock intake more air

Both intakes are active on a stock sidewinder.
CAI, wait, wrong term again, WAI does seem to need to cary a smidge more clutch weight and increased boost and it runs leaner, It also runs hotter intake temps compared to stock airbox.
I have gone back to stock airbox for trail riding and cooler intake temps. Stock box also flows cooler air to the clutches and belt rather then inhaling and consuming it into the engine. There are better ways to make power than using a WAI. Just clicking up a tune is one better way to do it.
