Has anyone had to install a taller windshield after doing the mod?
I'm 6' 1" and had NO problems with wind in my face with the X-tall windshield ( 17 1/2" ) and the stock RX1 seat.
Now that I'm 4" higher with the Apex seat will I have a problem?
I have yet to try it out due to lack of snow in the Northeast.

Yes you will definatly be more in the wind, but it is a trade off that I am willing to do for the better comfort of the apex seat and if you are a taller rider you will too.

I'm 6'4" running the extra tall Venture windshield ( gigantic 23 inches I think with sides that extend down to the shroud) on mine with the Apex seat mod. Some say its ugly, but I say it works and that is all that matters on a -35 day!
Stock shield was useless in the cold!

On my first ride with this mod today, my tailbone was also hitting that pouch! Really drove me nuts and was kinda painful. Not sure what to do now, but your idea may be the right one.jsjk-4-stroke said:i am 6-2 when i did mine it felt tippy to me also i ride streched out with my long legs and my tailbone was hitting the fiberglass rear pouch i took the seat off added foam to my stock seat

Had my first ride on the weekend after changing to the Apex seat, and at -36C there definetely a wind factor issue.
I opted to use my old full face helmet, and that seemed to enough to ride comfortably with. However I am going to checkout the larger windshield.
BTW I'm 6'4" as well

On my Rage with the Nytro seat, I drove it like that for a couple of years but then I changed it to a Yamaha extra extra tall windshield. It was about 4 inches taller than the stock windshield and it was perfect.
