Anyone put these to the test yet? I'm wondering if they will go 150 or so on the dream meter without shelling out the studs that are installed. Turbo Sleds can be a bit harsh on tracks! Wondering if they would provide enough traction for the trail. It would be great to loose the 10 lbs. of stud weight if they did. Mike Knapp#17

IMO those tracks can't offer the same hook-up as a standard studded track, they are more for safety in icy situations rather than extra traction under acceleration.

I stud more for safety than holeshot and would definetly consider one of these in the future.

My thoughts also NY Warrior. A trail sled is for riding and not dragracing. I blew a studded ripsaw off last year at 135 and thats not to safe. Put a non studed track on that eve and went out the next day to 150 without proplems other than the icy corners. Mike Knapp#17

I held the radar gun for a guy that did 140 with a 04RX1 with turbo and he was using a studded asphault track.I will have to remember to ask how the studs/track held up.
Ad on--- Opps, sorry. After rereading the post I see your looking for a light high speed lake/trail track that will perform and hold up.
This same guy does have a turbo sled for the trail but I don`t know if hes changed tracks. This guy has 3 turbo sleds!I should find out what has worked for him.

No- the ice ripper is a 1.25" ripsaw with studs installed like that of a studded snow tire. Wondering if anyone has tried one yet?

I have the iceripper on my attak. absolutely love it so much so I doubt I will ever stud a track again, as long as this one last the whole seaseon. it is warrentied so am not too worried. pro's of the ice ripper are, hook up surprisingly good not as good as 196 but more than adequate. on ice good control which i s why i studded in the first place. you can still slide it around turns which I did not like about 196 studs. big plus. If hook up is the most important to you than I would consider studding, otherwise for roughly the same doe you can use this track which is far superior for my needs. ( I am basically a trail rider logging about 150 mile per day, 3000 a year.) goog luck with your decision.
