can the new nytro seat fit an 05 vector

I raised my bars about 1 1/2 inches. You almost have to raise the bars because they want to hit you in the legs when you turn without raising them.

Are you able to see your Speedo/Tach now when riding?

I raised and pivoted my bars about 3.25" and with the Nytro seat, I can see the gage just fine. Of course, I'm over 6' tall too, so that may have something to do with it. PM Chris-RX-1, he has a bracket for raising the gage a few inches. My seat came with the wire and correct pig-tail, all I had to do was install the housing.

EASY mod fellas - well worth the $$$, looks factory, affords ALLOT more mobility and transition to standing, and it has a trunk too.

Like I said before: Yamaha knocked one out of the park with these seats

What do you mean about "The Housing"? Do you mean the tail lights?

This does some like a pretty sweet mod. All told between seat and risers how much do you think you could do this for?

When I did mine the wire was in the seat but I had to cut the plugs off the other 05 seat to get them to work.I am going to order some new plugs for the 05 seat so it ready to go if I sell it. I am 6ft 2 and my legs with the bars put all the way up is fine for riding. Next year I think I will add a 2inch powermadd pivot to the handle bar and try it. The directions 4 fighter put on here I used. I also cut the tank cover. You can also get tank covers in different colors if you go to the mountain sleds parts list. I needed a silver and could get it on the mountain parts. I chose not to beause they wanted 176.00 for it. I bought the seat from a dealer they wanted 571 dollars for it and I asked if he would give me a deal and gave it to me for 475. Thats all you will have in it. It felt allot different to me when I first rode it. It felt like I was going to fall over, but after a few rides It broke in better and it really feels good to my back and knees. Yep. With the same parts, and discounts you would have about $600 into the seat and pivot w/2" riser.

Everything on my '04 plugged right into the '06 seat. Maybe the '05's used a diff. pig-tail - Hmmmm??? Cutting the cover and swapping the tail light, and hooks was all I needed to do on mine.

Sorry I couldnt get back to you I was in Munising with the group.
No I still cant see the Speedo/Tach. I have the deluxe handle bar bags and they still do block the gauges.

Like Chaser said, it should work and you will have to cut or replace the cover. Cutting the cover is the cheaper way to go. The cover is about $150.00. It really changes the way the sled rides and handles, in a good way.

I have the Nitro seat on mine and its the best seat out there. I tried to order the new tank cover but they kept sending me the same Vector cover. Yamaha parts said that there is no differance between the Vector cover and the Nitro, so after a month or so I just gave up. I set the seat over the tank cover and it looks fine.

Who needs a template? I can send the actual piece I cut off or trace it on some paper and mail it if it will help. I cut 3 1/4" off mine. This thread and others were a huge help along with a couple of conversations with Brian.
