Working on a friends 05 RX1.
I started it outside (cold) to bring it in the shop and in was cold blooded. Acted like the
pilots
were pluged. I pulled the carbs on the pilots were clean. I did find the orings on the main jet tubes deteriated and mostly gone. Two of the tubes had no orings. What do these orings do? Any chance these bad orings could cause a lean run cold problem?

I believe the o rings on the bottom of the mains were added to prevent the early RXs from running out of fuel in the float bowls on steep inclines. Not being there should not be an issue for how it runs getting it into the shop. What is troubling is that you only found TWO of them. :) After fighting with RX carbs for years I've found that if they look clean, clean them anyway. Make sure you can get a thin wire or shoot a jet of carb cleaner through the jets. Those things are ridiculously small and get plugged/varnished over easily.

Carbs

Carb spray passed through all of them. I talked to the owner and he said he had the carbs cleaned last year also.

The stupid TORS was kicking on after I put the carbs back on. Not sure what changed. I will have to check it over again.

Thanks for responding.
