I just picked up my 2016 Viper LTX-DX and want to go to a dual carbine set up. Mostly trail riding so I am looking for that set up. I am going to keep the tuner skis. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Just sold my Nytro RTX but am loving the cushy ride of the LTX......and the heated seat(-34 this am in Lac du Bonnet)

Yamaha/Woody's 4" outside, 6" inside work's great on trail for me.I just picked up my 2016 Viper LTX-DX and want to go to a dual carbine set up. Mostly trail riding so I am looking for that set up. I replaced my Tuners this year, but last year I put the stock Yamaha carbides that came on the sled on the outside, and got 6" shapers on the inside. The shapers really seemed to dig in much better than the stock Yamaha carbides, not to mention, they last a lot longer!

The carbide's that come on most Yamaha sleds from the factory don't even last a few day's, I've had really good experience's with Woody'sI replaced my Tuners this year, but last year I put the stock Yamaha carbides that came on the sled on the outside, and got 6" shapers on the inside. I agree that the Yamaha carbides do not last, but strangely enough, I had 4" carbides that came with the sled on the outside, and the 6" shapers on the inside for over 1,500 miles, and the Yamaha carbides were not totally gone. With the 6" shapers on the inside, I just saved some money and got some actual use out of the Yamaha carbides on the outside. The carbide's that come on most Yamaha sleds from the factory don't even last a few day's, I've had really good experience's with Woody's

I had the 6"/4" combo on my LTX-DX last year, and I found that 80% of the time it was fine.
I'm moving up to a 6"/6" set up this year, and hoping to try it out soon.

I agree about the stock Yamaha carbides, they are junk. I changed them out at 500 miles. I run 6" stud boy shaper bars on both sides of the tuners. I put 1800 miles on these last they work great. I'm at 2400 miles and I just put 55 miles on yesterday. I thought I would need to change them out but I don't think I will, not yet.

I noticed the stock carbides have sleaves over the treaded shafts. Those sleaves will not fit over the Woodys shafts. Should the Woodys have a sleave?

I ran the woodys 6" round outside last year with no spacers, no problems. Only 700 miles though.I noticed the stock carbides have sleaves over the treaded shafts. Those sleaves will not fit over the Woodys shafts. Should the Woodys have a sleave?

About the best thing you can do with the tuners is run a Shaper bar for the aggressive flat profile.
I do have to wonder about Snow trackers on them...

I ran 6" shapers inside, and the bite was incredible. Still push in the soft stuff though, so off they came.

Am I missing something here? ?
Got a set of 6" shapers from royal and the part number Matheson what my sled is but they look longer and have 4 studs. The stock carbide have 2 studs.

You may have gotten the carbides for the Viper 2014 with out the tuners. I got stud boy shapers for the tuner skis and fit perfect.Am I missing something here? ?

Yep two studs fit just like the Yamaha set I took out. Heavier bolt nut if I remember right. Yamadoo
