I wonder where Yamaha snowmobile sales are at? I know they sold a lot of Vipers. Bit don't really know how the other sleds faired.

I bet the low margins are based on the fact that Yamaha sent a whole bunch of them back and said get it right. Between that and the shipping fiasco probably cut the margin thin.

Almost all the guys I know that own cats also the dealer don't want the yamaha motor. Questions why because their Suzuki is better and faster. Sure doesn't help when the dealer is negative.
Btw not all are, the other cat dealer has his wife on a 7000 she loves it.

ZERO new 4 stroke yamahas or cats in the flatlands of South Dakota. Plenty of 2014 2 stroke Cats sold.

Well I can tell ya I ran with an 800 sno pro all last weekend and it would not run with my pro r 800 let alone the turbo viper. On the flowage in 2' of fresh it would not go over 75 mph. At 160+ hp they must be losing a bunch in the chain case or the slides.

I have one. 2014 Cat M8 comes with 19-50 gearing. Too much power for take off but from a rolling start it blows away the Viper. But from a standing start the Viper blows it away for first few lengths as the Cat spins the track. Of course everything varies and after Viper breaks in it might be diff.

lake lap
Well we went out for 3 hours this a.m. before the blizzard hit. Took off from my house down to the lake and ended up ditchbanging for 24 miles. There were 8 of us riding and I was out front busting drifts after drifts. All I could think about was yamahatim stuck in a drift. Powder was constantly coming over the top. At first it took abit to stay on top but after not hammering on the throttle this was alot of fun. On the way back I could see our tracks and really pulled away from everybody with little effort. Back to the lake on some hard pack from about 25 mph a cat F7 and me raced and not much of a race. I pulled 3 sleds on him and thats where we stayed till about 80 when I had to turn. I played around with the real etec 600 last weekend. You guys are right I took him every time. Anyways there was a dragon 136 track 800. Not sure if I have enough for him or not?

Lol...right on, good thing I wasn't with you guys I would of found a drift to get stuck in!
I don't think you would have a problem with that Dragon, I raced one with my stick Nytro XTX and was almost even.
