anyone running the NX Nitrous Express kit?...just wondering about this kit and how much HP it has for the apex....

--how is this kit installed compared to the holtzman airbox type install?

--does this kit need a bottle heater?

--what exactly would be advantage of the small fuel tank for race fuel?

any other info I appreciate.

here is link to the site, didnt see any price for the first kit though(CT-Y-45NK)

I have it and really like it over the other kits for the sole reason I can run 87 octane in it because the small tank has 114 in it.

Install is a little more complex, but not bad typicall nitrous install. I like the alum spacers in between the carbs/TB and the head, much more solid mount for the nozzles.

Needs a bottle heater, I actually think they all do but apparently the holtzman does well without one. Its not a big deal I just have mine on a switch and keep it warm all day then just hit the activate button when I'm ready to spray.

As stated before the advantage of the aux tank is no more running premium or worrying that the gas you just bought from po dunk barrel out in the middle of woods is still good. The system is completely independant so when your off the bottle its a stock sled, once on it injects the nitrous and fuel (with aux fuel pump) and its SAFE. The NX kit has jets for what shot you want to run so NO TUNING, just install the #12 gass jet and the #4 nitrous jet (they come in labeled zip bags) and boom you got 80hp, or what ever shot you want. You get jets for 40,60,80,and 100 hp.

Also buying a 5 gal can of 114 will probabaly last you 2-3 years, the gas doesn't degrade as fast as normal gas and the tank of gas is equal to 4 - 2.5# bottles of nitrous.

Overall I think the kit is awesome, and it gurantees to give you that full shot EVERY time.

One thing you NEED is a NX fuel pressure gauge and Nitrous pressure gauge. Just make sure you have fuel pressure when your on the bottle and your good to go. Use the NX pressure guage to make sure your at 900 psi and let her loose!

Any more questions just ask!

I bought an NX kit from Summit Racing and my Dad and I installed it on his sled. You can install it without the CB tank and nozzle. What I did is removed the throttlebodies and drilled and tapped the stock throttlebodies, some might think thats a big deal but if you want to remove the nozzles later you just use a 1/16" pipe plug to plug the holes. Also to get the nozzle in the clutch side cylinder you need to remove the crankcase breather and cut off a flat section and have it welded by someone who can weld magnesium. I drilled a hole above the fuel pump and ran a dip tube into the stock tank to get an extra fuel line for the nitrous fuel pump. We couldn't figure a way to add a small tank under the hood there just isn't much room. The kit works great and you can run premium in the stock fuel tank for up to 60HP.

Sound like a lot of work? It is, but it was worth it.

After installing NX I decided to use N.O.S. instead on my sled because they use poly lines that go to the nozzles (the jets are in the nozzles) the poly lines are much easier to work with when changing jets. NX uses braided lines and they aren't very flexable. Both kits are installed basically the same.

If you do it this way you can use the stock airbox and you wouldn't have to use K&N filters which I think is what CB has done.

I had to get extra fittings from the local house of hose because the kits are just a generic kit and you will have to do some extra plumbing due to the lack of underhood space.

If you want more info and want to tackle an install like this let me know I can sent pics and help you along the way.

Blowen14psi, very creative good job!

I just used up a bottle tonight and holy smokes does it transform the sled into a rocket. At 70 mph I hit it and it ratchets in the track! Once I tightend it up and hit it again I had all I could do to hang on. This is going to be addiciting :)

These kits are the way to go for absolute performance and consistency. I installed the kits on Apex Mountains and I've raced a couple of big iron 2 strokes and you should see the look on their faces "IS THAT THING STOCK?" they say in amazement. With a 50 shot I get 1500 rpm's. I just wish I could hold more N2O. I bought an extra 2.5lb bottle cause it goes quick. I'm looking at a carbon fiber 4.2lb that I think I can squeeze in the nose but it's EXPENSIVE. I also heard that if you use a BOSS High Rise seat you can get them with a pouch that you can fit a 12lb carbon fiber bottle in. If that's True WOW you could spray all day without changing the botttle.
