You are probably right and with 7800mi on my stock setup no reason to doubt. As far as the collar and nut. Reason for eliminating it might be because they want to allow some shaft movement without taking out the bearing. The only diff between the 14/15 and 16 bearing is that the old style bearing has a tapered inner race otherwise its the same. I like the coller and nut set up as it holds the bearing on the shaft better than the snap ring on the 16. I believe it was a cost saving thing as it eliminates some parts and and is easier to assemble at the factory. imo I dont see any reason to change the jackshaft. I would spend my money on better quality bearings. Just my opinion.

The ntn I replaced it with is rated at something like 10 times the thrust load rating as the cheep peek bearing that came in it so not concerned about that. the tapered coller set up is going to hold the bearing much tighter and eliminate any turning of the shaft in the bearing. I still think it was done to save cost.

The jack shaft must be different because the 14 has a spacer that takes up the space behind the bearing and between the seal. That collar rides right up to the back of the slip sleeve that the nut tightens to. Looks like it may be a better fitment with less parts....

Cant find the numbers but they are standard between manufactures they will be on the old bearing just order the same bearing number in the brand you want I went with ntn.
Dont forget the wobblebearing is different 14,15/16. 16 no longer has taper in ID.
