My buddy has almost 20,000 km on his and I have 12000 miles on mine. When I had mine apart at 11000 miles to change the bearings it was really good, hardly any pin play or wear on anything. Chain case oil was changed every season since new on my machine, cheap and easy maintenance.

i did my 2011 at 12000 mi as the chain was making sharp edges between the links. noticed it when i was in there at 11000 mi doing the bearings in the chaincase as i had a speedo bearing fail at that milage with annual repacking on it.

I have over 15000 miles each
on 6 RX1/Apexes. I put a new chain in an 06 Apex after second Driveshaft fail( installed heavy duty with extroverts the second time), couldnt tell any difference comparing the new to old chain. That chain is SO over engineered for its duty. With good lube and proper tension, I cant imagine it would ever fail. That said, major bearing fails, high speed track fails, I would inspect it well.
