Took chain case apart because I had a leak from around the gasket.

Seen that the reverse chain put a wear mark on the cover. There is 15000km on sled.

Is there suppose to be a clip holding the reverse gear in place? Old pic I had , posted just to show what I'm, taking about because mine don't have a clip there.

Just took the clip off that was between the 22 and 20 gear then put the 22 hear on and there only room for one clip on the out side.
So I'm I right when I say that the clip goes on the out side of the reserve gear and not between the 2 gears????

I had a problem with my chaincase and the bearings were bad, simular mileage on the sled (13,000 Km).

Bearing are ok I think I had the clip in the wring place . I had the clip between the gears and it suppose to be on the out side of the reverse gear?

Once someone confirms that this is right I well put it back together

So you are saying that the mark was caused by the clip being in the wrong place?

Yes. as the reverse gear was not kept in place. so it could float a little and the reverse chain touched the cover.

Thanks to cannondale27 for clearing this up for me. Guys like you make this site a great place.
There is 2 groves is the shaft one for sleds with reverse and on for sleds without . I had my clip in the grove for sleds without reverse and that was the wrong place. I have have it on the outside of the revers gear.
I think I got lucky as I only made a small mark on the cover after 3000km.
