Questions for those who have replaced your chain case:
I'm updating my Viper chain case to the 2017/Sidewinder version & noticed that they use 6 self tapping screws. What is the proper way to drive those screws into the case? Did you use a hex bit impact driver (with a torx bit, of course), or did you drive them in by hand? How do you make sure that they drive in straight? Did you use lube?
Thanks!

I screwed them in by hand, keeping a lot of pressure, and paying attention so that the srcew is cutting and running straight.

Clean screws, or use new ones. Apply blue loctite. Make sure they're screwed in straight.

Just put mine in due to a crack this past winter. Who new those bolts got loose ending up in a cracked case. Yes be careful to put them in straight and torque carefully. Fortunately case comes with bearings and seals already mounted.

If you run screws in to tap case before install....
Don't run the center post in all the way because it will bottom out and can break post.
I tapped mine first then installed on sled with blue loctite on threads.

What did you guys torque the 6 torx screws and the 4 through bolts to?

I drilled, tapped and installed stainless steel helicoils in the screw holes and used socket head cap screws to provide a reliable set of threaded holes. I replaced every one of these self tapping screws on the chain case and oil tank. Much easier and reliable assembly and disassembly. The self tapping screws save time/money during the manufacturing of the sled but is a poor application in this case.
