After digesting all of the available information on the Sidewinder, other than the ergo question, my primary concern is centered on the durability of the chaincase.

I'm am not a nay sayer of the Sidewinder in any way, shape or form! I just want to know more about the chaincase and reverse system being attached to the motor.

Is it different in any way? Has something internally been changed? Has it been tested?

Any information on this would be beneficial to myself and I'm sure, others as well.

I've asked Mr Sled to shed some light on the drivetrain improvements. Solid mounts, no tcl I presume. Chain and gears? A real drain plug? Reverse improved or not? Better starter motor? Looks like one helluva sled, for sure!

Yes it does doesn't it! ;)! If only for the FUN (and grin) factor. :D My life needs this right now and the wife is OK with it. But if this thing would leave me stranded on the trail or in the shop ala a Viper, please God NO! :(

There really haven't been alot of chaincase failures that I've seen at least during the past year that I've owned my Viper and been paying attention. The 16s had an updated Jackshaft and starter. Unfortunately the crapper winter didn't lend to seeing how these helped. Also the kickback issue should be gone with the yam/mitsu electronics

OK...correct me if I'm wrong but weren't the chaincase failures due to the reverse randomly trying to engage? Starter p/n is the same on Vipers (14-16) and Vectors (10-16) per the fiche so if something was updated, the p/n stayed the same (?).

I guess I need to hear what testing or ?? has been done to prove (as best as possible given it's a new sled) that the chaincase is capable of handling the HP? If the reasoning is that it handled the 1100 Turbo then I guess that's my answer.

I thought I answered this.. New Chain and Gears, No chain case drain plug, same reverse, new starter with the new motor.

No drain plug blows my mind why you would not put one in it. Seems like something so simple to do. Must be a mess to change the case oil??
