That would be Kip!!I don't have a price yet!!!! Dealer is at the Polaris Dealer Meeting in Utah.
Yamaha/Hyvo gears and Borg/Warner chain like the apex? Wich drive belt is it using - same as apex or viper? Is there a updated chain case that ar solid mounted?
I have to ask - I have been away from Yamaha turbo for a while, but are really condsidering the new sidewinder mtx 162".
I wish Yamaha could give some more info on the motor mounting, secondary shaft, chaincase, gears and chain. After reading about the AC 1100 turbo blowing belts. This is the only thing I need info about before getting one. Yamaha has done all one heck of a job with this turbo setup

Its not a Cat,it has beefed up chain and gears 15 wide, still no drain plug for chaincase, but that not a game changer for me. The Viper never has had that POS cat TCL set up,the ones all us guys with our cat turbo's had to change out to keep a belt on.Way better clutching, brand new motor been developed for the last 5 years, makes more hp than Yamaha went out on a limb and stated,no lag because no blow off valve, they now recirculate the pressure back to the motor by an air bypass valve,so you don't hear that funky sounding hissing noise every time you chop the throttle any more, that was irritating at times, and because of this devise they now have zero turbo lag,but three intakes helps also, something no one else has ever done to a turbo on a sled.Yes it does doesn't it! If only for the FUN (and grin) factor. My life needs this right now and the wife is OK with it. But if this thing would leave me stranded on the trail or in the shop ala a Viper, please God NO!

is chaincase in the sidewinder same as Arctic Cats ZR9000's 2016? cause i know one or two that blew them...
You sure they were 16's? Haven't seen that myself. They did go to wider chain and gears on Sidewinder. Wobble bearing was still in 16's and I believe it's still in Sidewinder not sure on that though. The big difference is no TCL and way beefier rear engine mounts. When cat decided to tie the engine and Chaincase together it put stress on all the bearings and shafts. Sidewinder and Viper do NOT have that TCL.is chaincase in the sidewinder same as Arctic Cats ZR9000's 2016? cause i know one or two that blew them...

There were a number of 16 ZR9000 chain cases that failed over on HCS at around 2,500 miles
What happened to them? There were a number of 16 ZR9000 chain cases that failed over on HCS at around 2,500 miles

i think some where 2015's not sure 2016's but it seems more improvements on the Sidewinder, cause chaincase failure is probably the mose cursing thing that can happen in a sled aside from motor and clutch...

I heard of very FEW if any chaincase failures in most CATS in the last few years. Not saying that back 3-4 maybe more so, but not widespread

This is incorrect. A boost re circulation valve does the same this as a BOV. The only reason its rerouted back to the intake on the sidewinder would be for noise. Most turbo cars use a boost recirculation because they are MAF, the sidewinder is speed density, the air is not metered so it can be vented to atmosphere without any ill effects. Every turbo vehicle needs one or the other. The lag present on the 1100 turbo motor is probably due to the fact that it has one throttle body, which is 10 inches or so from the cylinder head. The yamaha 3 cylinders have 3 throttle bodies, about an inch away from the cylinder head.
Without a BRV or BOV, once you close the throttles, the boost in the charge tube would have nowhere to go but back through the turbo compressor wheel, this is not only bad for the turbo, but causes the turbine wheels in the turbo to slow down considerably. This would make for serious lag when going from on the throttle to off the throttle to back on. With the BRV/BOV, when you let of the throttle, the vacuum causes the valve to open, vents the compressed air and this allows the turbo to keep spinning fast while the throttle is close. This results in minimal lag in an on/off/on throttle situation.

I stand corrected; it was secondary failures. Getting old sucks............................
