I'm changing the lower driveshaft bearing on my vector; all set to go, bearing is loose on the shaft after soaking with penetrating oil for a week. I want to seal the space between the bearing and shaft so that it doesn't rust up and seize to the shaft. I've searched around and can't find anything on this but thinking either use never seize compound or light duty lock tite. If I use regular bearing retainer I'm afraid I'll have a real hard time getting the bearing out if I ever had to replace it again, but maybe that's the preferred method.
Note: the bearing was not seized or anything like that, actually its in great shape, I'm just replaceing it because the inner seal is bad and grease was getting contaminated with water at low miles.
Thanks for any info-

There is a bearing cap that shields the drive shaft bearing from road salt and mud listed under the Tech Exchange having Yamaha part # 8FN-47377-00-00 This will fit your sled and may be what you are looking for.
