Changing Hyfax on Nytro

work smarter not harder. lift the back of the sled up off the ground, i use my trophy stand, unscrew the front screw. With the screw driver you used to take the screw out, put it in the hole at an angle. then with a rubber malet or hammer tap on the screw driver, forcing the hyfax slightly towards the back. once you have enough of the hyfax slide back, reach in the track window with a set of needle nose vise grips and lock onto the old hyfax. This is were it gets tough, start the sled, put it in reverse. And with your thumb push on the throttle. The track will force the vise grips down towards the front of the sled, pulling the old hyfax through the same track wiindow. And just like that, the old hyfax gets pealed off like a bannana peal. You can do both at the same time..........
That's the way uh huh, uh huh I like it!!
Turns it into a 20 minute job!! ;)!

The more times your take your skid out, the easier it gets! So much easier to change stuff out and check for loose/broken stuff. And drop your torsion springs when putting it back in ;)!
Gets easier the 4th or 5th time you do it..... lol

Lol na it only took about 2 times to have it dialed in
:drink:

Right AFTER I get dun replacing the skid, with new slides, wheels or bearings greased or replaced I think, "that wasn't so bad". Then like now, when the skid is NOT on the bench, I think, OH NO not again.
Why do I find so many bad bearings, worn slides, cracked A arms?
Then I remember its because I have 12 to 14 k miles on these sleds and I STILL LIKE THEM.

Maybe if the sled wore out sooner and I changed it -the sled-I wouldn't dread this repeat job so much.

LOL Yamadoo

Take the skid out, are you riding tomorrow?

Look it over, clean shafts, check bushings, etc. I've done it both ways, frankly this skid is a cake to get back in. Plus you get the added benefit of inspecting the exhaust, tunnel, suspension arms, etc.

There are some posts on this site about using reverse to remove hyfax. There is a video on YouTube showing this being done. Pretty cool!

I used the reverse method a month ago or so when i changed mine. It worked very well ;)!
