I use a 10mm wrench and if it fits between the bottom of the slider and the upper lip, it is time to change.

Thats a cool trick. I use a digital caliper from Harbor Freight. http://www.harborfreight.com/6-digital- ... 68304.html

If they are OEM then there will be a wear line on the side. When an section hits the line, replace.

How about for DUPONT replacements? Same 10mm trick work? I don't recall if DUPONT has a wear line on them, I don't think so.

No line on the Duponts but I checked and 10mm will be right.Very thin at that point but not through.
