^^^ Agreed!thor452 said:which leads me to believe the wire the is supose to give constant power is not giving constant power only key switch power
See if you can't find a fuse somewhere that is blown. That would be the first thing. After that find the connector in the back of the Gauge Cluster that has constant power and make sure the mating pin isn't bent in the connector. If that doesn't work follow the wire to the battery. Has to be something simple.

is your 12 volt outlet working? from looking at the owners manual it apears to be a constant power source that would not effect the rest of the sled if it was blown.

I believe my 12v outlet is tied into the EUC and goes dead with the sled it turned off.

My 08 Apex needs the clock set each time battery disconnected, also 12v outlet works with key on/off.

ok I finialy got to check my sled. sorry it took so long. The green plug with 3 wires for the head unit contains the constant power wire. it is the orange wire with the red stripe. i would check at the plug first and trace it what ever way you need to to find the prob.

Correct, orange with red stripe wire is the constant 12V supply to the meter assembly. It is fed from the 3A fuse #57 in the schematic.
The auxilary DC jack is fed from the 30A fuse #53 which is hot only when the sled is running (not just the key being on).
Fuses 53, 54, & 55 (DC jack, headlight, & taillight) are fed from the load control relay (#59) which is energized only when the engine is running.
Fuses 56, 57, & 58 (fan, meter, & ign.) are fed through a 40A fuse (#4) connected to the battery.
I re-wired my auxilary DC jack directly to the battery with an inline fuse so that my heated shield stays hot during trail stops. This is also useful for charging phones or using a GPS during trail stops with the sled shut off. This also allows me to charge my sled battery while parked in my garage by simply plugging my optimate 4 cig plug adapter right into this jack.

Hey fellas, anyone have anything further on this? I have the same issue with my 06 RTX. Clock resets after ignition turned off. I have 12v before and after the green harness on the orange/red wire going to the speedo. Fuses all good. Any ideas what could be causing this?

If the IPC clock is resetting every time you shut the key off but there’s constant 12v on the feed wire then the problem is within the cluster itself.
Or a bad ground.

Ok, can you let me know where the ground would be for this circuit?
Check the ground at the Gauge if it’s common ground then issue is gauge itself or ecu. It it’s just for clock then it has to either traced throughout harness to batt neg or run a new one. If with a new one on. That eliminates everything except the circuitry that operates clock in Gauge or ecu.Ok, can you let me know where the ground would be for this circuit?

If bad ground, might be a good time to go through harness and check all those grounding blocks. I found a total of 5 of them on my 08 Apex LTX GT:

Fortunately, all of them were in good shape but at the recommendation of @Rockmeister, I added some di-electric grease before placing cap back on and re-taping.
