I held off on the closed loop this year due to issues I had with the 02 sensor when running it on my apex. From what I can see on fb the same issues exist where sensors don’t last on the sidewinder either. Looking for feedback from those that are running it to see if the sensors are lasting or not. The system itself look great, but if you have to keep buying sensors it’s not worth it for me.

I have about 1,700 miles on mine with closed loop and zero issues.

I know 6 guys personally plus myself running closed loop and so far 0 issues.
Just let it warm up!!

Anybody mixing leaded race fuel with closed loop?

I had the same 02 since 2017 and it just quite a coup,e weeks ago. It's bèen through lots of race fuel and pump gas. The only reason it quit was someone twisted the wire removing and installing. In my mind this is a no no.

Have sensor in since 2017 no problems.

I believe lead will degrade the sensor over time and cause it to malfunction. When I installed closed loop I stopped using C16 completely. 400 miles of datalogging shows constant and correct AFR adjustments.

This is good to hear. I never got more than 200 miles out of mine on my apex. Did everything they asked, installe din right spot per ulmer etc. They even replaced the gauge once but I still had issues. I saw some of the same reports on FB so assumed many had the same issue. good to hear most seem to be having success.

Been running the same O2 sensor for 3 full seasons and it was fine until a few weekends ago when I blew a belt out at WOT. Bosch 17025.

For whatever reason the aftermarket gauges were very problematic. The AEM module used on the sidewinder is no where near as bad. That said I had a module fail once, I had it mounted behind the oil tank and get wet from snow load while in the powder more than once. I have mounted my new AEM module in the front nose of the sled to eliminate the module getting wet & full of snow and have had no issues since.

Why did the O2 sensor fail in this situation, and how did you know it failed?

Don’t know why, but something in my sensor didn’t like the violent smack of the primary sheaves coming together at ~9k. A/F was working fine up until the belt blew.

How did I know it failed? The numbers in my cluster that used to indicate a/f ratio were replaced by a flashing SD_24 code.

I installed the AFR module on my 2019 SW when it was new...zero issues. I added the closed loop this season with the original O2 sensor...zero issues.
I installed a PV5, Auto Tune, Ignition module, and Pod 300 on my Attak many seasons and 1000s of miles ago...zero issues.
There are octane boosters and race fuels that are not O2 sensor friendly.

From what you could see on Space Book, you will get way more accurate answers here on Totally Yamaha. You should have just asked the question here instead of reading into it over there and then posting here if it's true. FB and all social media is filled with a lot of false information.
