going to be cleaning my clutches. I know just hot water and blow off with compressed air.
But, what's the best way to removed the spider? just remove the front plate and spring and slide it out?
Thanks

You need special tools to remove spyder. If you remove front cover, there is an x on inside of cover and on one spyder finger. They need to be lined up for balance. Remove front cover bolts evenly.

Yes, clutch needs special tools to remove spider. Anyone who has these tools or making their own to disassemble clutch.....remember that the rear sheave and main shaft have left hand threads. There are 2 half-moon pieces (split collars) that lock into the clutch inner sheave.
