I've got an 03 RX-1. When I give it a quick shot of gas and release, the clutch makes a loud clunk. Is this normal?

Ya, mine used to do it before I went to the heavy hitters.

What do mean when you say "release the clutch"?

Not really release the clutch, release the throttle (i'll edit the post). I'll give it a quick shot of gas and release without moving the sled. It makes a loud metal on metal clunk.

It's just the clutch starting to engage don't give it quite that much throttle unless your sitting on it ready to go

I suggest checking the chaincase tension to see if is set to spec.
Has your clutch been serviced recently? I say this because a couple of years ago when I started tinkering with my clutches, I didn't set the tension the proper way and my secondary would clank when I went on the throttle.

Thanks for the responses.
I'm sure the noise is coming from the primary when it opens. I hardly even notice it, but when the misses rides the sled it's always clanking.
