Installing clutches want to know is the twist to put the cap on the second clutch spring clockwise or counterclockwise? When installing on the sled what torque spec do you use?

Primary cluctch whats the install torque spec. Thought I read install to 83 ftlbs then back out and rehit to 43ftlbs.

To determine spring twisting direction, look at the direction of the coils. You crank a spring in the same direction as the coils.

Torque spec on primary RX1 according to the service manual is 110 ft. I have learned the hard way that if you crank it that high, you will blow the bolt and the clutch will come flying out at you at about 110 mph. Crank it to 90 and leave it.

Yamaha secondaries...clockwise. Set the parking brake, and stuff a thick rag behind the inner sheave to keep it in place, instead of chasing it around and inventing new swear words

Primary Clutch Bolt Torgue

LB there is a Tech update to the service manual the correct intial torque is now 85# so you were very close.

Service manual corrections

It is in Tech Bulletin S2003-006 dated 5/22/03 pages 3 and 4.
