Just wanted some opinions. I have read some feedback on the ulmers clutches. Spoke to someone experienced with cluthcing and he said the 09 Vectors are clutched pretty good stock and that I would not get much out of re-clutching. opinions or other performance ideas without adding turbo.

Give Allan Ulmer a call, you'll be glad you did.

Yamaha clutches these sled to perform in all conditions without strictly performace in mind. If you want more out of that sled, clutching is a great way to start. You can get better belt squeeze from the secondary and harder pulling from the primary over stock all day. Make the call!!

The clutching on the 2009's is the same as on my 2008. It is ok for general, all-purpose use and trail riding. I was also told that a clutch kit wouldn't make much of a difference on my sled and the Vectors were clutched pretty good from the factory. However after my first ride I ordered an Ulmer clutch kit since I could tell it was over-reving in the mid range and I was losing hp to the track which I didn't like. The clutch kit added a TON of excitement and performance to my sled. You can really tell the difference in the mid-range as it now pulls much harder. It is easy to install and adjust if you ever feel the need to add or subtrace a few hundred rpm's on the top end, so it accomodates any other changes you may make to your sled in the future such as exhaust mods. It is a rather expensive kit but the STM weights are VERY nice and durable. No signs of wear after 4500 miles of use.
