copper donut mileage?

So i finally got mine apart to check out where all my noise is coming from. My exhaust at the weld just before the muffler completely split in half.

I got a chance to check out my copper donuts.

They have over 4000 miles on them and they show no signs of wear. They are completely discolored from the heat but appear to be in great shape!!

Just checked mine after a couple of thousand miles and they don't have a scratch on them- just not bright and shiny any more.

Where did you guys buy your copper donuts from?

Same, Sled Toyz, just installed them over the weekend, although the originals looked good they were a perfect fit.

I have them..bout 4k for millage..sled is loud as hell now all of a sudden.
Won't know what's up till summer when I pull it apart.
I think it's further back this time.

mine has about 4000 on the copper donuts.
It started getting loud 2 weeks ago. Ive been trying to eek out the remainder of the season hoping it would not get too bad but with each mile it gets louder and louder.
I brought it home monday and have not torn it apart yet but so far i can see that the pipe connecting to the muffler sheared in half right at a weld joint. Somewhere around the center of the track
I will be taking the entire exhaust off in 2 weeks and will know more.

If donuts are damaged i will post pics

You both have a broken silencer pipe. I think many have broken it at the weld. Mine broke this winter at about 17,000. We dropped the track, wrapped the pipe with metal tape and put on a band clamp. My dealer told me the pipe was titanium not stainless.

ALSO - There is little/no support for this section of pipe, probably why it broke. So...we added a 6" hose clamp - cut a slot in the tunnel, ran the band clamp down through the slot around pipe and back up the other side of the pipe through another slot and tightened on the topside of the tunnel. Worked good, just finished the season at 18,860. I am going to replace the broken pipe this summer with a like new used one I just bought for $75.

Mine broke at the Y and I welded it up with the mig welder. So it was not titanium on the 2007.

I also used a mig welder with regular steel wire. It Actually welded pretty nice.
I was having a heck of a time with the tig welder. It just didn't want to weld it. I kept burning holes in it so i gave up and went with the mig.
This is now my spare/backup sled so if it holds great. If not ill just fix it again no big deal
