1) While the stock chrome GT windshield looks bada$$, it's completely useless on the trails...I found myself being picked up and almost lifted off my seat by the wind while going fast..

2) Why the heck would yamaha use plastic screws to hold down the wind shield. Cold weather + plastic screws = broken screws when changing out the windshield..

3) How are some Apex GT riders I've seen videos of able to get their sled to ride wheelies? I have a studded track and I can't get the front of my sled more than an inch or 2 off the ground when taking off...

Other than those minor gripes, I absolutely love the sled!!! The torque it unreal and not smelling like a gas/oil refinery after a days riding is priceless. Thanks to those who've answered my noob questions over the past month, your input went into my decision on buying a 2006 GT.

Stock windy, you are correct, you'll have to hold on tight and wear warm gear, but it does look good. The make a mid that looks good as well and will help a bit. Don't expect much unless you go with the riot gear one.

The plastic screws have been used for over a decade now, they are plastic so that if you roll over, you are less likely to break the shield and or other parts. The mindy should just shear off. Some times it works sometimes it doesn't. I've never had a problem with them.

To increase transfer (wheelie) you will need to adjust the transfer rod. There is a special tool for that in the tool kit. It has a scale and Min/Max, I would highly suggest not going beyond or even to max. After that, hang on and watch for planes.
