Cover fit

Has any one put handle bar hooks on their Vector? I ordered a pair of 90-degree bend hooks out of the Yamaha catalog and I am wondering about fitting the already tight cover on.
Are they easy to take out and put back on? I am wondering if I just take them out every time I put the cover on they will get wore out or start fitting loose.
Any info in the hooks will be appreciated.

thats why i ordered a mountain cover....dont have handlebar hooks but have 6" of rise on my bars....barely fits

The Vector cover is indeed a very tight fit in stock form. Add some handlebar hooks and there's no way you're gonna get that cover on. I recommend a large buttonhole in the cover for each hook with oversewing of the edges and bar-tacking the ends to prevent further ripping. Or, you could do what I did and iron on some denim patches using high heat and slicing it with your Spyderco

I didn't even think about that. I put a 90 on the left and a 45 on the right and haven't tried my cover but after thinking about it there is no way it is going to fit. I could barely pull the cover over my stock bars. Guess I'll be cutting mine too.

the vector cover is a very tight fit, my viper cover is a P.I.A. with the bar hooks on it. it just fits with all the pulling you could possibly do. and when it's wet, and you put it on... forget about it. it will take 3 people to pull on it!

Looks like I will either have to get a new cover or just take the hooks out. I also put on a pair of hand guards that will have to be loosened and adjusted to make orig. cover fit. Oh well, usually keep the sled up north and don't trailer it that much.

Go with an enclosed trailer, then you don't need to monkey with covers, and the sleds will stay dry, secure, and clean.

u guys should seriously get the mountain covers...even if u dont have a mountain sled. i have a rage, put mtn handlebars on, plus 2" block and handguards...its tight but it works...now im bout 5" taller on just handlebars but with my guards on i think im pushin atleast 7"....before i opened up my stock cover...i told them to order me a mtn cover

yah, I got 2 inch risers and moved my bars quite a bit forward and have powermadd handgaurds, and I can get my regular cover on fine. But there is no way the hooks will fit. Have to just take them off with allen wrench when trailering

Oh, is that ALL I need to do? I am lucky to have enough dough to be able to go up north. It will be a few years before I can even consider getting the enclosed trailer.
