Is it Ok to cover for the summer if in a dry place?
Or may the be a chance that moisture might build up?

Would depend on the cover. IF it is a breathable cover like the ones Yamaha sells for their sleds it would be ok. I would watch out for a Canadian tire special, tarp or plastic though.
Just a couple of things U might want 2 do,
......Give your sled a good coat of Wax,
......Spray all metal pieces with Starrett M1 Spray...Prevents Rust Or any kind of rust preventer.
......Clean your seat with Armorall
......Lift the back end up off the ground with a stand, I even have the front off the ground as well
Then cover it up with your Yamaha Cover, then U R good 2 go

It is a Yamaha Cover. Not canvas though, I think vinyl.
Thanks for the good advice

If you store it off the trailer, put a sheet of plastic under the sled.

A couple of years ago I bought just the plain Yamaha "universal" cover. Its just plain black and says "YAMAHA" on the side.
It has adjustable straps on it that allow you to adjust it to any sled.
It only cost me about $80.
I used it on my '90 Phazer II and I now use it on my '01 Polaris 600 XC.

Eliminate the UV exposure to the track too. I have a Poo EDGE cover over mine and a cheap tarp that is ripped, loosely wrapped around the seat and under the track blocking sunlight. This is the first summer in 10 years that I've had to store my sled out-side

Ouch! That sucks, 4Fighter.
I have no problem parking my F-150 outside, but no way will any of my sleds be stored anywhere but in the garage.
