Cpr Simons roll call

CPR TURBO

I just completed my install and my sled runs for 5-10 seconds and floods out. Disconnect fuel lines and it will run for THREE minutes at idol. Two minutes VERY rich, 45 seconds just right and 15 seconds lean. Sounds cool but bummed about flooding. No leaks and all my new gauges seem to work. I weighed one clutch weight that I bought and it weighs 80 grams. New scale so I need to calibrate it. I put the 200 g calibration weight on it and it weighed 201.8 so scale is off a little.. Back to fuel. That pump pumps some serious fuel. I ran the fuel line into a 6 gal tank and pumped fuel through pump while sled idoled. In the time it took for egt to reach 400 degrees it had pumped 4 gallons of fuel. Not kidding ...4 gallons. I think my fuel pressure maybe too high. Any other ideas greatly appreciated. RXHALER had a couple ideas that I will try Monday. Gotta go Have a safe Holiday everyone. Muskrat

Sounds like a return line restriction to me . One time I forgot my return line was clamped off , Turned the key on for about 5 secs. ..........there was so much gas in the intercooler , I had to take it off and drain it . :shock:

Thanks for the help RXHALER, that would explain why it runs so long without the fuel line hooked up. I never had that line clamped off but I'll check it when I get home tonight. It still surprises me that this fuel pump pumps that much fuel in such a short time. I think I'll measure the psi output tonight. Can't wait to ride this thing. Muskrat

I think you should lower fuel level in carb. bowls (lower floats) i always
do it on electric pumped carbs. If your floats are correctly seated, there
is no reason to flod unless sled is uneaven . check regulator press. and
return line anyways...

05 rx1 cpr turbo, 136 wahl, light aarms,boss seat, ice race only, see you at anchor bay.

For you mountain riders, that might have your sled upside down. The fuel put should be wired in engine on/engine off power supply. I had mine upside down, got up right and had to remove the intercooler and dump out 2 litres of fuel, when wired to the key switch the pump still runs because the key is on. Fixed that problem when I got home.

I knew I was forgetting to do something ........I believe the blue, and whit wire in the fuseblock is hot only if there is oil pressure , probably need a relay though , how did you wire yours Red ?

Battery power to the relay #30, then blue wire to #86, then #85 to ground, #87 to the fuel pump, these are numbers on the relay that you would install your self, if you want to primp the carbs with sled of power a toggle switch and the other to #87a with sled off then you can fill the bowls after a jet change or what ever you are doing to the carbs.
