well guys,i managed to get over 2000 miles on powderlites front mount header.that is pretty good i guess .i was out today and noticed my sled wasnt running strong, so i opened my hood to notice the sound of the header leaking and i also noticed my boost was down .i also noticed that when my header cracked the exhaust leak was coming forward and kinda melted my plug for my coil.now i need a new plug.shitty feeling.i talked to dave at powderlites and he said to send him the header and he will fix it,nice guy.that means i will be working on it tonite so i could send it to him tommorrow.are there any better headers out there for a front mount.

contact ted @jannettyracing.com or turboaddictionparts.com looks like these guys got it figured out.also alpinemotorsports claims they have a new header design that will last.

Dave is an awesome guy, he will help anybody, even me. :)

But you always have TAP Turbo Manifolds to fall back on.

well guys i finally got the header off .the header cracked at the flange where the turbo sits on .pretty big crack ,almost all around. i will be sending it to dave at powderlites tommorrow morning to see what he says about repairing it.i think there new headers are better .mine was one of their first designs.worked good for awhile.maybe they will reinforce the flange so they are sronger.i will talk to dave tommorrow he is an excellent guy to deal with.

i think now would be a good time to upgrade my turbo also .what do you guys figure a good upgrade from a gt2554 r would be for my front mount.i hear alot about the 2560 turbo because it handles more boost and spools the same making more power.what do you guys think.

For the type of riding you do Fern it would be a great upgrade.

Looks like the Alpine header I just replaced(it cracked in less than 300 miles ) . I put on one of the Ted Jannety manifolds , worked out nice !

hi turbo tim ,when your header cracked you just bought a new one or did you try to repair your old one too.mine is on its way to dave at powderlites.he said they are repairable and he is going to reinforce it.mine is one of the original kits.the new ones look better.how many miles do you have on teds header and how much boost do you run on your sled .i was impressed my lasted this long compared to some others .

I have only one short test ride on the Jannety manifold , every thing seems good so far but I need to get a couple of good rides in with it before I make any performance judgements . This sled is new to me , so I'm not exactly how much boost i will run . At 10 PSI before the header cracked ,the sled was almost uncontrollable (it's a Diamond s sled and very light ), so I 'll prob keep it around 15 - 17 psi , but who knows . I have a habit of turning the boost almost all the way up on everything HA !

Right on Tim......now we have someone to test these new headers out in the mountains.

Ken , I got about 200 miles on the Jannety Manifold so far . Had it at 20 P.S.I.
yesterday .....friggin rips ! No probs . No loss in performance that I can tell from the header .

;)!
