I have curve xs skis....I can say I like them better than the stock skis in loose snow...but after two seasons...thats about all I can about them thats positive....other than...they do look nice....they hunt and dart as bad as anything else out there.....in fact stock skis with duallys or triple points are much better for the average trail rider. When I called curves about the darting....they said my toe out was off (my dealer checked this...wrong)....three months later curve released the leading edge.....why?? If these skis worked as advertised, why do I need leading edge?? Also...its a pain in the #*$&@...took almost two weeks last time...to get carbides for these skis...nobody carries them in my area.
check out what a well respected carbide maker said about these skis

Pretty happy with mine.
Do you trust your dealer is doing the alignment right or as Curve suggests?

I also get some darting at times, depending on conditions, but from what I have read on here about all different types of ski's is that most do as well, depending on conditions.

Wow! I was actually thinking about pulling the trigger on a set of these. Got me thinking now. Not sure if I want to purchase these now and waste that type of money. If I don't like them, I wonder what the chances would be on getting my money back?

Im with Irv, and disagree about the stock skis with doolies or triple points being better. Yes, I still get darting, but nothing like what it was with stockers. Have you checked your front end bushings?

As far as getting carbides, why are you having such a hard time getting them? I cant remember what the interchange is off hand, but its a common interchange. I have some stud boy shaper b bars out in the garage waiting to go on mine, I could check. You could have them from dennis kirk in two days via ground shipping Im sure.

You can disagree all you want...that's fine...aggressive riders don't like dually's because they can push in the corners (if there is loose snow)....IMO the anti tracking/dart benefits of dually's or triple points...far out weigh a little corner push (if you are taking corners that hot....maybe you need to slow down??)...my point is...most of the people on here don't drive aggressively enough..where curve xs skis would make a diference for them...a cheaper...better solution is the stock ski's with dually's or triple points....again I'm talking the AVERAGE TRAIL RIDER

As far as my sled goes...my front end bushings were recently replaces (less than 1,500 miles ago), and my toe out is set to curve specs (1/4 inch out), per their manual.

I realize there are many riders who don't have a clue when it comes to toe-out/toe in...or when their bushings are bad...or how to set-up their skid, and or front suspension to get the kind of ride and handling they want...I do know how to do those things. I also know that ride and handling are subjective...we all set our sleds up for how WE like it....IMO the worst thing...and hardest thing to get used to on the pre 2011 yamaha 4 strokes...is the engine braking, and the way it effects handling (when the weight transfers forward, and you dart or track)...I definately recommend a dual runner ski...or dually's (cheaper option) to first time yamaha four stroke owners, at least until they get used to the machine (It took me a good 400 miles before I had a real grasp on the engine braking, and how to use it to my advantage)

I also think that, bergstrom is one smart cookie, and his summary of the curve xs, IMO is spot on....it definately made me think about it.

This past week I spoke to two different guys who were involved with the testing of the NEW dual tuner ski from yamaha....they claimed to have tested the dual tuner on a nytro xtx (and they only used the 9-2, and 9-0 inserts...not aggressive at all)...against, a stock nytro xtx with 6 inch single runners...both said the dual tuners were awesome...and made the squirelly, twitchy nature of the nytro..disappear, making it a much more stable, and easier sled to ride...with zero darting..they were totally sold on them....I personally haven't tryed them...but from what these guys said, and what I have read...I believe this is the way to go...I will probably be selling my curves, and buying dual tuners later this winter....they are cheap, compared to most after market skis
.(including the curve xs)...As far as the carbides go...NOBODY carries them here..yes I know I can order them online...but to me that's a pain in the #*$&@...if I need carbides, I want them that day...not two weeks down the road, and I don't want to have to stock 3 pairs in my garage...cause you know what happens (if you are like me)....i get antsy every fall...and then I buy a different sled, and forget about the belts, carbides, and slides...I currently have ski-doo slides, two doo belts, one cat belt, and two pares of used cat carbides sitting in my garage...I meant to give them to the new owner...just forgot...lol

Again the thing that bergstrom pointed out, and what I don't like...is if you read curves brochure...it says they greatly diminish or eliminate darting...if that's true why the need for leading edge?? I call BS...sorry...not trying to start a war...but I don't believe they perform as advertised. Are they a quality product...YES...and they look great (I have had many people ask me "what are those"???)
I think if you are a ditch banger, run off trail alot or run a bit deeper snow...they may be the ticket for you (they do work better than the stock yami ski's in those conditions)...for the average trail joe??...NO...you are better off with the new dual tuners IMO.

Go with the dual tuners....that's what I'm gonna do.

And...they would probably get hung up in customs...at least that's what's happening with my logging customer's up there...I sell them parts, ...ship them out...and my customers wait...sometimes two to three weeks....Canadian customs sucks :o|

(no offense to canadians them selves)

That said, the man is 'brilliant'! He copied word for word off our website, put quotes around them to evade plagiarizing, bashed our product to promote bars and ski savers and feasted off our SEO efforts like a viking. Pretty clever really but certainly not ethical. Again, this isn't how we do business.

If you appreciate the information, presentation and content on his website, his bars are a good choice. Our ski customers report great success on Bergstrom triple points.

I've owned two pairs of Curve skis running Bertsrom triple points with shims and skisavers. They performed great! Also, I've run most of the aftermarket skis and found both Curve amd Slydog the best performers.

We have far less gun, drug problems in Canada compared to the states so I will take CDN customs anyday over American Customs. ;)!
