Out of curiosity, I measured the inside plastic above the bushings on my old curves on the apex and they are 3.193, or about 81mm. The tuners on the sw measured about 3.365 inside the plastic, or about 85 mm. Injection molds should not vary much at all...interesting story.

I sent an email to curve this morning asking what the nominal dimension is supposed to be inside the saddle with no bushing.
I'm quite puzzled by this whole thing. I think your sled was fitted with spindle sleeves that were used on the 2015 tuner 2's with non replaceable loops. They were shorter, and I think when they tightened up the hardware it just pulled the saddle sides in. All the tuner 3 skis I have here in shop measure between 79 and 80mm.
On the 15 vipers with the shorter sleeve there was excess side to side play so I would supply 2 washers....one for each side of the sleeve inside the saddle. Beings you can't even get your shorter sleeve inside the curve saddle tells me the curve ski tolerances are out of wack. Is it both skis or just one?
Using a curve mounting kit is not going to fix your issue. If you don't want to wait on possibly geting replacement skis sent out to you here's what I would suggest. Get a piece of threaded rod that will fit through the saddle holes. put a washer and nut on the insides of the saddle. Then thread the nuts against the washers to spread the saddle opening. Crank them good and tight until you get to the desired width. Heat them up bit to to relieve the skis resistance to expanding and then let them cool.
Please let me know how you make out. You bought them from me so I will take care of you!

Thanks Travis.
I am not following you on this... What I have on my SW from the factory based on my efforts to replace with Curves is that my hardware is too "Wide". If what I have is too wide, how would it have been pulled in to compensate on the stock tuner skis? With the curves, I am about 4mm short to properly fit the sleeve between the bushings that were pressed on to the curve skis. When I got the Curves, the bushings were pressed on with the flange(s) facing inwards on the ski. It is the span between these two flanges that the sleeve is to sit in and it is here that I have about 4mm missing to get it to fit. I tried flipping one bushing and it was still not enough. I flipped both and the span was then too much. I inserted a washer that came with the skis and that fit but there's something about this setup that seems wrong....
By heating while the plastic mold is under stress, does this not weaken the integrity of the whole setup?
Yeah, it's damn frustrating... I am swamped this evening but hopefully tomorrow evening I can give the threaded rod a go.

Sidewinders were supposed to have sleeves that are approximately 80mm long. In all my fit ups I've never had any issues fitting the 80mm sleeve inside the saddle with bushings installed as shown below. There is room to spare and therefore requires a shim washer.
For some unknown reason it appears your sleeve is the shorter 2015 style. The fact that you can't get an even shorter sleeve installed tells me the curve skis are certainly defective. I've never had an issue to date, but from now on I will have to check them before I send them out. I'm sorry this happened to you!
If you heat the ski you are just warming it with a heat gun or hair dryer so it can conform easier.

Looks like I've been able to get it to fit.. I heated them up pretty good while spreading the sides out with some threaded rod. Let it cool then installed them on the arms.. I just hope this didn't cause any premature failure in the ski design ....
Thanks for the insight. I'll only know how they feel once we get our snow dumping which is supposed to start tonight!!!

Im having the same issue as Offroadin with this. THere is now way to get that sleeve between the Curve Spindle Bushings. Not sure I want to go to heating that plastic. Seems like you would compromise strength. Im tempted to grind down the sleeve.

Where did you buy the skis? I just shipped set of white ones out today and checked to be sure the sleeve fits between. Ever since offroadin had this issue I now trial fit a sleeve to make sure they fit. I had emailed curve about this issue but they did not get back to me yet.

K&J Motorsports. I'm emailing back and forth with Curve now trying to figure out. Frustrating to say the least.

Here is what I have learned so far. I have Curve mount kit XS30611 which is for the Procross Chassis which they thought worked on the Winder as well. For some reason the bushings in this kit are to thick to allow the sleeve to fit and they are going to have press a new bushing...............

It appears the Tuner 3 skis are a different saddle width than the procross skis that's where the confusion was...
Curve will be coming out with an update for existing customers who purchased a XS30611 mount kit, and introducing an all new mount kit part # for the Sidewinder and Viper.
Spread the word and I'll try to get this update out before the holiday weekend as I have to do some fitment testing to find the right new bushing...

Great...That's the kit I bought cause I was told it was the right one.
Had to heat it a little to force fit it.

So my buddy came over yesterday and looked at this. In order for new bushings to work they would have to so thin on edge of the ski they wouldn't last. We took the spindle sleeves and ground them down to fit.

How did that work? On mine, the sleeves were an exact width match to my sled spindles+spacers. Grinding the sleeves down would not have solved my problem.
