Thinking of switching to Dalton DTAY-1 weights.
Question is are you able to easily change all three spots on the weight without removing the primary cover or only just the heel slug?
Thanks...

There's only one spot to insert the slugs and it can be done without removing anything from the clutch.

That makes sense now.

OP, what tune are you running? The DTYA1s work well for me. Just be sure you are in the correct range (grams) for your tune/HP.

In my opinion these are the best/user friendly weights I have ever used. Literally takes minutes to dial in different weight. I've used STMs which are a good weight but once you I used these daltons the STMs sit in the corner and collect dust.

X2.....they just plain work, and are simple to adjust/add/remove slugs trailside. Hard to beat that.In my opinion these are the best/user friendly weights I have ever used. I know you run hurricane tune! Probably 270most of the time??? DTYA1 are the one to go whit that tune?OP, what tune are you running? The DTYA1s work well for me. Just be sure you are in the correct range (grams) for your tune/HP.
Question about those weight, the slug that you put in, does it have to go at the bottom of the thread or you can place the slug whatever you want in the threaded sleeve?
Which type of bushing they have does it hold up?
Thanks

I would think you will be good with DTYA1......I run the 240/270/290 maps with these weights. (14.6 to 16.6psi) I tend to like them at 77.8g or so which puts the 240 map bang on at 8850. And then the bigger maps will rev 9150 and abit higher. Now you can add or remove slugs depending on if your lake running the big maps or trail riding.
I went all over the place this winter with maps and grams, and always come back to around 77.8g for the most fun on trail. Id be alot heavier for radar/ice running though. More like loaded up 82g for that. (true range is approx 74.8 empty to 82.2 loaded)

Yeah, but STM weights are far superior in every way to the Dalton EXCEPT for ease of use. Daltons have no where near the adjustability of the STM's... Hands down. But they do offer the average trail rider the ability to tune them without much fuss at all...

Agree with that, but also think the dalton curvature makes great top speed. STMs are a great tool and infinitely adjustable at many points on the curve. But in the end the Daltons always seem to make same or better top speeds.Yeah, but STM weights are far superior in every way to the Dalton EXCEPT for ease of use. STMs also you really got be careful which ones you buy.... As the YS are exact same curvature as stock weights, and they call them "turbo" weights. The Y weights are closer to the Dalton curvature if I recall.

Just make sure to install smallest to largest slug from the top of weight to heal as the large slug can get stuck there.Thinking of switching to Dalton DTAY-1 weights.

I too will be trying a set of these next year and I have the same question.
When inserting the slug or slugs, you insert from tip only?
And can you stop a short slug half way in, thus putting more weight in the mid, versus the heel, or leave it nearer tip?
Or do you have no choice but to bottom it out and follow with more if wanted?
Have had HH and heel clickers but never this style with only one hole through the middle of the whole weight.
