Anyone on here using the HID kits from DDM tuning? They seem a lot cheaper than other companies, including yamahas, just wondering how the reliability and fitment is. I know the cables are cut just right but if everything plugs in with no problems.

Put em in with no problems. Lot of extra wire but there is ways around that.
As I recall, few guys have put a few thousand miles on with them and had no problems.

I went with the 55watt 5000 lum. Love them. Run them in the Grizzley and RZR no issues
Confused?

do they have high and low?

Yes they have high and low. I am not very good at electrical issues but I installed them a month ago with no problems. Very easy plug and play. The only issue is taking care of all the extra wire like zeke66 said. Thank god for wire ties!

Is there a big difference between the 35 and 55 watt models? I was thinking 35 watt just so that there isn't much of a load on the electrical system. I dont know what the amperage rating are for each so it's hard to tell.

Isn't the stock bulb 55w? Mine are bright as hell. And yes 55 are much brighter

I installed the HIDs last year: http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=91199
Sledstart sell a patch cable that eliminates the previously added control relay and harness. It really cleans up the wiring.

So Sledstart's patch cable was compatible with your DDM's?

Anyone know what the amperage for both stock and hid headlights is? I wouldnt want to put more of a load on the system and cause my battery to be drained instead of charged while the sled is on.

Why is this kit so cheap? Every other one is $200 plus, is it as the old saying goes you get what you pay for, I am looking into getting them but 50 bucks seems pretty cheap.

yes, i would also like to know what the amperage is on the stock bulbs so i can get a better idea of what bulbs to get

I think they are so cheap because all sets are pretty much universal except for the bulb type being the only thing that changes and they can sell more since they offer hid for pretty much anything made unlike the yamaha set or sledstart set which they only make for yamaha sleds and nothing else.xf800spro said:Why is this kit so cheap?
