Was she wearing any protection under her jacket? I never ride without my Tekvest.Couple of broken ribs that she sacrificed to save her Viper! LOL!!!! Never left the sled rode it to the ground! She's been working out 3 days a week since the ribs have stopped hurting. First muscles she's had in the 40 years I've know her, impressive. Starts with a personal trainer in December in addition to the thrice weekly workout! Now she's starting to scare me! LOL!

I bought her a Reima jacket and bibs years ago. She would never wear the the Jacket because of the armor panels built into the jacket made it difficult to ride because they made it too stiff to be comfortable for her.
However, you have brought up an excellent point. I'll see if I can find a local supplier so she can try them on. She,will no longer buy equipment without trying things on.
Thanks so much for the recommendation, it's greatly appreciated. I'll let you know how things turn out!
By the way, my son-in-law now has that Reima jacket and loves it, perhaps it just didn't fit the wife correctly to begin with!

I understand what you're saying about the armor panels. My Tekvest is very comfortable and acts as an extra layer of clothing, so I usually just wear a thinner outer layer over it. It provides great torso protection, and yes, I did find out the hard way! The EVS Revo 4 is a popular protector that some female mountain riders wear. Not too pricey either.

I have a question that you may be able to help with. I herniated a disk last spring and subsequently found that I have bulging discs from C3-4 to C7-T1 with C6-7 having been fused 20 years ago. I've been looking for a neck brace for a while now with little luck. I've lost about 50% of the strength in my left hand which has been slowly returning as the ring and baby finger start to get feeling back. It's a little more complex than that but you get the idea. Any ideas? And not snowmobiling is not an option. It's a difficult question so I will understand if you have no recommendation. Thanks again for all your help.

No expertise in that area but I will say that a lightweight helmet (carbon fiber) can reduce strain considerably on your neck.

Thank you for all your help. I did buy a new light weight helmet last year. Tried a C2 509 helmet just couldn't get used to the design. But Two pounds lighter than my previous helmet. Helmet not really the problem, lifting SH!£ that's too heavy has done me in over the years. 2 people 970 lbs., 500 lbs one person. Steel beams added after lifting house off foundation, ripping 2nd floor off cottage and replacing with cantilevered floors and giant dormers, etc. most of those things since I retired at 60+. Even worse when I was younger, hung with guys that were unusual to say the least. The only time I ever bench pressed we started at 265 pounds as a warm up then went to 325# which I could do once. My buddie did reps of 10!!! He'd have done more but that's all the weight he had and the bar was bending pretty good! Same guy dead lifted 1560 pounds, 5'10" about 185 at the time! And 100's of other, stupid, crazy, fun, hard, and wild things! I guess if your going to play the game you should be ready to pay the price. LOL!No expertise in that area but I will say that a lightweight helmet (carbon fiber) can reduce strain considerably on your neck.
Now I guess it's time to act my age, I just don't feel my age, which is the problem. LOL!!!
