Has anyone here put any of the following tracks on their FX Nytro? And if so, what are your opinions so far?

Also, if any of you just want to compare them to each other from what you know that would help me a bit I'm sure.

Intense 15x121x1.5

Freeride 15x121x1.5

Backcountry 15x121x1.75

Challenger 15x121x2

Thanks for the info,

Will

Myself and Nytromaniac both have the Intense 1.5 and both feel it's a totally different sled. In my opinion a deeper lug is a must if you plan to ride in any powder.

As for your comparisons...I think the Freeride is actually 14 inches wide, but I could be wrong. It has a combination of different lugs where as the Intense has paddles.

I haven't seen the 1.75 backcountry, although my original plan was to go 1.75. I've seen a few posts from guys on this site who have had the 1.75. Also, I have heard of at least 1 person who's gone to the 2 inch.

Keep in mind that to go to even a 1.5 you'll need to remove the heat exchanger protectors.

Goddo is right, I LOVE the Intense track on this sled, should have the option to come with it installed for EDP customers. I have seen the 1.5 Freeride track and the 1.5 Ripsaw, and to me, both tracks look to have shorter lugs than the Intense, although they're both classified as 1.5 lug tracks.

Freeride is better for on-trail then off trail. I have one on my nytro but will be installing the cobra next week to try just for shits & giggles. The free ride does work well in deep snow & is way better then the ripsaw. I probably lost 3-4 mph on top end.

The cobra surprised me. it has softer lugs then the free ride but hook up is pretty good. Testing on hardpack snow yesterday it really holeshoted very well. Either track works well & you can,t go wrong with these 2 tracks.

Thank you, sounds good! I have read reports on the apex forum about this track and they says that the cobra track hooks up much better in loose snow than the rip saw without loosing any top speed. Have you had the chance to test it in loose snow conditions?

How does the Intense hook up on hard pack trails guys?

I would say that it is quite similar to the Ripsaw on hardpack, but it will outperform the Ripsaw in anything softer. Though, I find the sideways traction to be slightly worse than the Ripsaw, both on hardpack and in soft conditions (which is a positive thing since it makes sliding easier).

I don't know about the 121 but I run the 144 and traction is arm ripping. On the hardpack on the weekend sled was hitting a consistant 98 on the creek sometimes hitting 99 so the track didn't effect topend as much as I thought. ( I also found a seized up 2 speed weight in the clutch so I'm wondering if it will go better yet)

Anyone here in particular running the Backcountry 15x121x1.75?

Thanks again for the info :)

I'm trying to put a 1.75" off an IQ. I'm having a hell of a time!!!!

I removed the front protectors but I'm not sure if I need to remove the rears???? I really don't want to proceed until someone who knows what thier doing can give me some advice.
