2016 APEX LE XTX
I would like to say hello to everybody, its that time of the year again, well today I pulled the plug and traded my 2014 xtx phazer in on a 2016 Apex xtx le 146 with 1.75 back country track, I have never drove a Apex before is there much difference in the power coming of a phazer?

You're definitely in for a treat/scare lol. An Apex has basically the power of two phazer motors side by side. 998cc producing 140-160 hp I believe.

But the trade off is you're most likely not going to be riding an apex on its side like a phazer as it weighs quite a bit more.

Imagine yourself going from a Honda Civic to a Dodge Ram with the diesel. You'll learn quickly how to swing your weight around...buy yourself a rollover kit and a shovel. I've had to dig myself out a few times here or there.

Only problem i see is how you gonna get that sheet eatin grin off your face

Thanks, for some reason I thought the new Apex had a roll over safty system in it but I will make sure and get the kit if they don't.

Thanks i'm hoping with the 1.75 lug and 146 track and of course power it will be not to bad at breaking trail

They do stall out, but the oil will continue to seep past the piston. Then you get to sit there for 10 mins and be cold while your buddies carve circles around you.

LOL, can you say apples and oranges? About the only thing those two sleds have in common is that they are both made by Yamaha.

Phazer - 80hp
Apex - 150 hp

Phazer - 470 ish lbs.
Apex - 630 ish lbs.

Phazer - Full rider forward riding position
Apex - Semi rider forward riding position

Don't quote me on the numbers above but you get the idea. Have fun! G.B.

Yamaha needs to "bend" the Apex motor into a short V4 so it could fit the Phazer chassis! I liked the Apex I rode on railroad grades and lake but I'd take my 1/2 hp Phazer on twisties/powder/ditches any day of the week! serious looking at getting an Apex for those strictly trails days though

,
Thanks, I liked the phazer xtx to, I did quite abit of research before making up my mind on the Apex most of it on these forums, the only thing that I might have a bit of trouble with is the riding position where I am on the tall side the Phazer shined in this area for me, hopefully I will adapt to this riding position without to much trouble, I drove a lot of different sleds over time before swinging a leg over a Phazer, thinking i'm going to like the little bit more power of the Apex.

The riding position isn't that bad vs a phazer. I'm a tall guy too and have no problems. Though I spend most of my time standing so I can have a better sight on what is coming up on me, always have done that.
