Did everybody close both tunnels?

Closed off the rear hole in the picture and left the front hole open no drips on my boards at all.

does anyone have a picture of the front hole?

Dealer applied Yamaha the close off kit for me. Covers back of the hole, not the front. Before that I had the side covers that are louvered and they worked the pits. Had ice all over the place. When they installed the close off kit they left the front louvered sides on but removed the back set of louvered sides. They said the back set had to come off to allow for heat to escape.

Ice is not much of a problem any more even with the front open. Mind you I do mainly trail riding.

how do we order this yamaha close off kit?
does anyone have the precise contact information?
I went riding last weekend and my phazer had about 40 lbs of ice stuck to the inside and outside of the tunnel.
insane.
thanks

Check with Port Yamaha-Great service and a site advertiser. I got mine from Schmidt Bros. Rode last year with no issues...of course I followed some of the advice here and never rode with it open

That kit is well worth the $.Is alot of protective pieces in there.Might not be needed but I felt for what they put in there was worth the price and piece of mind.Do wish they made the actual block off fit better though.
For this year I also cut the edges off the exhaustguard mounted on subframe at the front hole. Its the one with the rubber strips that go down to tunnel.I figured since front hole is closed off why not let more air in from the sides.Looks better also.I will take a pic later.
