I picked up an Apex RTX this weekend. Guy told me it was an 07, but reg says 06. It is black with burgandy graphics and a-arms. It has the mono skid, but I thought the rtx had the pro active ck. What size rip saw was stock on this sled?

2006 Apex RTX was a monoshock. 2007 through 2009 Apex RTX was teh pro-active. All Apex 121 & 136 models came with the 1.25" Ripsaw track.

Yes I would consider yourself lucky. I would beef up that mono and look into a shock revalve and it should be a good skid for you, much better then what people say about the pro active.

Ditto for me. The mono skid is about the best ride out there once it is set up for your riding style. Smoothes out the bumps.

i think the problem with the pro-active is that people think just because it has that skid the 700lb apex is all of the sudden a ditch banger. Also yamaha doesnt have the valving even close to good stock so a simple rebuild revalve is all thats needed.

the mono is a boring skid to me.

I dont like either, the ZX2 is a freaking riot!

The mono does ride nice though.

if i had the money i would do the zx2 also! the mono rides great in the small stuff, but not in the big stuff, and overall i just felt it was boring..

The only way to cure a ProActive is to get rid of it. I agree the sled will never be a ditch banger - but it's sure as hell easy to improve on the way you get it.... with about ANYTHING you put under it. I have never seen a sled with as many skid conversions as I have with the Apex, Mono AND Proactive.

What about what they call Dual Shock CK on the 2011 XTX? Having an 2009 Apex Gt 136, what do you recommand; 144 XTX or 128 Apex for best comfort?

Thanks
