Do it yourself Turbo Kit

Hey thanks RX-Warrior, Pretty sad can build a Turbo RX-1 but can't put the pictures on here too technical  I figure with my calculations that it should be around the 190hp range on 6lbs boost. That should be enough and if it ain't I'm building a bleed off valve anyways for the controller so in an emergency I can put it on 8lbs boost, You know like a little MAGIC SWITCH. They say on 8lbs it makes 220hp. If RX-Warrior doesn't mind I'LL send him my pictures as I go and maybe he could put them on here for me? The more I get done the more I hate summer.......... As far as the tank goes I'll have to make that as well, and yes it will be smaller than stock do to the placement of the Turbo, I will just have to pack some gas which I never have before but then again it won't take as many runs to get up the BIG HILLS so maybe I won't need as much gas?

Nice work :!: But dont forget that the exhaustpipes has to have correct
calculated lengths according to exact and equal exhaustpulses.

Looks good, project is coming along nicely. Best of luck to you, but I believe the compressor is too big for your application. just my .02

You guys certainly know WAY more about this stuff than I do. Looks like a cool project that I wish I was capable of doing, probably could but don;t have the patience or attention to detail it takes. Good luck with it, keep us posted.

Your welcome Snow Fever glad I could help.

Hey RX-Warrior, I think you guys are all missing the point here, the reason I went with the Mitsibushi turbo was to stay stock (Ha Ha) if you put those trick looking parts on the Rev, Cat and Polaris guys will call foul....... All B.S. aside I do like trying to make things myself (sometimes it works sometimes it don't) but one thing I do like is stuff that looks stock as though you could have bought it that way but it just goes better.

One of the turbo books I have says don't get to carried away with gauges as they just make you crazy when they don't read what you think they should. On my 700 Doo turbo I had all the gauges and one EGT crapped out so I thought that the one side was just running alot cooler. I did a plug check it looked the same as the other side so then I checked the piston wash and it was perfect. Glad I didn't just jet down! I say read your plugs and pistons (the latter is tough to do on this sled) and jet like you would bet when gambling, don't bet more than your willing to lose. For awhile I was a compulsive gambler with pistons and damn near had shares in Bombardier stock for them. Then I turned 40 and melowed. Sometimes if lots is good more ain't better. Slow learner but I did learn that so I'll stick to 6lbs boost (maybe)
